Giants Fans Chant for Jaxson Dart on Video After Russell Wilson Throws 2nd INT

Andrew PetersSep 21, 2025

New York Giants fans are ready for a change under center.

After starting quarterback Russell Wilson threw his second interception of the first half against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, fans broke out in a "we want Dart" chant, signaling for head coach Brian Daboll to turn to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Wilson had a rough start to Sunday's game with just 39 passing yards and a pair of interceptions in the first half. It was a stark contrast to the Wilson fans saw last week when he threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns in a narrow loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

In his Giants' debut against the Washington Commanders, Wilson had just 168 yards as New York came up short.

After Sunday's 22-9 loss, Daboll declined to answer who would start in Week 4:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that the Giants had a "package of plays" ready for Dart heading into Week 1, but he didn't end up going into the game.

Ahead of Week 2, Dart said he'd be ready whenever his moment came.

"I don't know if it's as much a package of plays. I'm just preparing for whatever chance that I get," Dart told reporters. "There's not a specific game plan or anything like that. It's me just trying to be prepared, and be ready whenever my number is called."

Dart appeared briefly against the Cowboys last week and came in for a snap against the Chiefs in the second half, but the rookie has yet to get significant playing time.

Whether Giants' fans calls for Dart will influence Daboll's decision remains to be seen.
