The "Alpha Dawg" uniform notably marks the franchise debut of Cleveland's brown helmet to complete an all-brown jersey combination. The team announced over the summer that the uniform will also be worn for its Oct. 19 matchup against the Miami Dolphins and its Dec. 7 game against the Tennessee Titans.
"'Alpha Dawg' embodies what we set out to be as the Cleveland Browns, the leaders of the pack. We're excited about this new alternate helmet and the ode it pays to the rich history of the color brown as part of our organization, switching it up from our iconic orange helmets," JW Johnson, Cleveland Browns Executive Vice President and Partner, said in a release.
The Browns are off to a 0-2 start this season and were trounced 41-17 against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. They are facing an undefeated Packers team that ranks third in the NFL in total defense with 238 yards allowed per game, so they could be in for another tough outing on Sunday.
Still, there should be some added motivation for Cleveland while the team tries to showcase its "Alpha Dawg" mentality in its new uniform.
