Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Bucs made the wrong kind of history straight out of the gate. During their inaugural season in 1976, they became the first NFL team to go 0-14.
Tampa Bay's on-field futility prompted a legendary quote from head coach John McKay. Asked about his squad's execution, he responded, "I'm in favor of it."
As a whole, the 1970s and '80s were pretty forgettable for the franchise. A trip to the NFC title game in 1979 was the major outlier.
It wasn't until Tony Dungy's arrival in 1996 that things started to turn around, and the Bucs' 1997 rebrand meant the orange creamsicles will always be associated with their worst period.
But fans will never complain when the creamsicle design is pulled out of the closet. The color palette and old "Bucco Bruce" logo may not be to everyone's liking, but the jerseys are definitely striking and a big departure away from Tampa Bay's usual red and pewter identity.
