Eagles' Saquon Barkley Backs Daniel Jones amid Hot Start to NFL Season with Colts
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley expressed his support for Indianapolis Colts quarterback and former teammate Daniel Jones on Saturday.
"Outside of the Philadelphia Eagles and myself, I want no one else to perform at a high level (more than) Daniel Jones," Barkley said, per Zach Berman of The Athletic. "The fact that he's off to a hot start... to go out there now and play at a high level and get to show people the player that I know and the person I know. I'm a big believer in anything, it might not happen in football, but the way he carries himself and the way he works and the way he competes, it's going to show at some point."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jones has started off his 2025 campaign on a high note, completing 71.4 percent of his throws for 588 yards and two touchdowns without getting picked off.
He's also recorded three scores on the ground, helping the Colts jump out to a 2-0 start.
Jones' early success this season is especially surprising considering he was released by the New York Giants in Nov. 2024 and went through a quarterback competition with Anthony Richardson during Indianapolis' 2025 training camp before earning the starting job.
Barkley and Jones were teammates on the Giants from 2019-23. New York make the playoffs once in their shared tenure, advancing to the divisional round of the postseason during its 2022 campaign.
After Barkley left the Giants in 2023, he put together an impressive inaugural year with the Eagles by rushing for 2,005 yards and earning Offensive Player of the Year honors.
This season, he's picked up 178 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns through two weeks.
