Travis Kelce Fined $14.4K by NFL for Obscene Taunt During Chiefs Loss to Eagles
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was fined $14,491 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct involving an obscene gesture during the team's 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The gesture occurred after Kelce caught a short pass from Patrick Mahomes and gained 23 yards in the third quarter of the matchup.

The 35-year-old finished the game with a team-high 61 receiving yards on four catches, although he committed a costly error late in the defeat.
With the Chiefs on the verge of scoring a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, a pass bounced off Kelce's hands and into the arms of Eagles safety Andrew Mukuba for an interception.
While Kansas City eventually found the end zone later in the quarter to pull to within three points, Philadelphia was able to run out the clock on its ensuing drive and seal the win.
According to the NFL's fines and appeals schedule, unsportsmanlike conduct results in a $14,491 fine following a first offense and $20,288 for a second offense.
Kelce has typically avoided racking up fines, recording just three since the start of the 2021 season (via Spotrac). It's worth noting that he was fined for taunting as well as excessive celebration during the Chiefs' playoff run that ended in the Super Bowl last season, though.
This year, Kelce has hauled in six receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown through two weeks.
Kansas City sits at 0-2, with losses to the Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers. Both Kelce and the Chiefs will look to get on track in a Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET.
