CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens Fined Combined $55K by NFL After Cowboys' Win vs. Giants

Zach BacharSep 20, 2025

Dallas Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens racked up $55,066 in fines during the team's 40-37 overtime victory over the New York Giants in Week 2, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Lamb and Pickens were fined $14,491 each for unsportsmanlike conduct due to a touchdown celebration late in the fourth quarter, per Pelissero. Pickens also received a $14,491 fine for removing his helmet before leaving the field.

As for Lamb, he faces another $11,593 fine for taunting on a separate play.

Both wide receivers appeared to make finger gun gestures during the celebration they were fined for.

NFL officiating rules analyst Walt Anderson called actions such as "simulating either shooting a gun or brandishing a gun" a "point of emphasis" for officials during the 2025 season on Aug. 21, per the Associated Press.

Lamb has typically avoided fines during his career, accruing just three since the 2021 season came to an end (via Spotrac). The same can't be said for Pickens, who was fined seven times during the 2024 season alone.

Still, both players stepped up in the win over the Giants.

Lamb finished with nine catches for a team-high 112 yards on 11 targets, while Pickens hauled in five receptions for 68 yards and a score.

After the latter receiver's score gave the Cowboys a four-point lead late in the fourth quarter, the Giants marched down the field and gained a three-point advantage following a touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Malik Nabers with 25 seconds left in regulation.

Dallas' offense quickly rushed down the field before kicker Brandon Aubrey nailed a 64-yard field goal to send the game to overtime, with another 46-yard field goal from Aubrey eventually sealing the win.

Despite the fines for Lamb and Pickens, both wideouts played key roles in the Cowboys' win that helped them avoid an 0-2 start.
