Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Questionable vs. Bears with Knee Injury, DaRon Bland Out

Zach BacharSep 20, 2025

The Dallas Cowboys' secondary is managing multiple injuries heading into a Week 3 matchup with the Chicago Bears.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs was added to Dallas' injury report on Saturday with a knee injury and was listed as questionable for the matchup with Chicago, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fellow corner DaRon Bland was also ruled out of the contest with a foot injury, marking his second consecutive missed game.

Bland suffered the injury in practice on Sept. 8 and has been sidelined ever since.

It's a worrying sign that the 26-year-old is dealing with foot issues early this season, as he's coming off a 2024 campaign in which he missed 10 games due to a stress fracture in his foot that required surgery.

Bland led the NFL with nine interceptions during his last fully healthy season in 2023, earning a Pro Bowl nod and finishing No. 5 in AP Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Diggs has also been hampered by injuries as of late, appearing in just 13 of a possible 34 regular-season contests over the prior two years. He suffered a torn ACL early in the 2023 season before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in Dec. 2024.

The two-time Pro Bowl corner has appeared in each of Dallas' first two games this year, recording five tackles.

With Bland out, expect Reddy Steward to step in for him once again as part of the Cowboys' first-string defense. If Diggs can't suit up, Dallas may rely on several contributors to make up for his absence.

The Cowboys elevated cornerbacks Zion Childress and Robert Rochell from their practice squad on Saturday.

Kickoff between Chicago and Dallas is on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
