Bears' Jaylon Johnson Reportedly Put on IR with Groin Injury, Out Indefinitely
The Chicago Bears have placed cornerback Jaylon Johnson on injured reserve with a groin injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He is out indefinitely.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz previously stated that Johnson will likely miss the remainder of the regular season, although the report kept the door slightly open for a late-season return if the Bears are in playoff contention.

ESPN's Adam Schefter and Courtney Cronin previously reported that Johnson would be out indefinitely.
"The team still is evaluating the full extent of the injury, whether surgery is necessary, and how long Johnson will be sidelined," Schefter wrote.
The 26-year-old Johnson has played his entire six-year career with the Bears. He's made the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons, earning Second Team All-Pro honors in 2023.
Johnson went into detail about the injury, which occurred during the Bears' 52-21 loss to the Detroit Lions last Sunday.
In essence, Johnson suffered a partial tear of his adductor off his pelvic bone.
Johnson suffered a groin injury during offseason training and missed all of training camp, preseason and then Week 1 of the regular season, a 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, per Schefter and Cronin. However, he was good to go for Week 2.
Unfortunately, Johnson suffered an ailment during the second quarter of the Loons game.
However, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said it's a new injury, it's not related to what he had before."
He also noted: "We're still trying to gather a little bit more information before we'll know for sure."
It's a very tough loss for a Bears team that has given up the most points (79) and yards per play (7.1) through two weeks. Johnson is arguably the team's best defensive player, and now the 0-2 Bears have to figure out how to move on without him for the foreseeable future.
In the meantime, the Bears have made some moves.
Chicago will look to get into the win column Sunday at home against the Dallas Cowboys.
