Xavier Worthy Reportedly Expected to be Out for Chiefs vs. Giants amid Shoulder Injury
The Kansas City Chiefs will reportedly be without wide receiver Xavier Worthy for a second straight game in Week 3.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Worthy is not expected to play in the Chiefs' Sunday night game against the New York Giants due to a shoulder injury.
Worthy injured his shoulder during the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and then sat out KC's Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Although he practiced in a limited fashion throughout the week, Worthy reportedly isn't ready to return to the lineup yet.

The 22-year-old Worthy had to leave KC's Week 1 game after he and tight end Travis Kelce accidentally collided while running crossing routes.
Worthy played only three offensive snaps in the game, carrying the ball once, and failing to record a reception.
Last year, the Chiefs selected Worthy with the No. 28 overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft after the former University of Texas standout set a new NFL Scouting Combine record by running the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds.
As a rookie last season, Worthy led the Chiefs in touchdown receptions with six, and he was both second on the team overall and tops on the team among wideouts with 59 receptions for 638 yards.
Worthy was also among the lone bright spots in the Chiefs' 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, as he went off for eight catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
The speedster entered the 2025 campaign with the expectation that he would be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' unquestioned No. 1 wide receiver to start the year due Rashee Rice being suspended for the first six games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
After Worthy got injured in Week 1, veterans Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster stepped up as Mahomes' top receivers along with Kelce.
Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton also became an important part of the passing game last week, catching a 49-yard touchdown.
With Worthy reportedly set to miss another game in Week 3, look for Mahomes to focus primarily on Brown, Smith-Schuster, Thornton and Kelce in the passing game, as Kansas City searches for its first win of the season.
