DeAndre Hopkins' Snap Count to Increase as Season Continues, Ravens' Todd Monken Says

The Baltimore Ravens envision wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins having increased snap counts as the season continues, per offensive coordinator Todd Monken to reporters Friday.

The 33-year-old Hopkins is playing in his 13th NFL season. The five-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro has enjoyed a sensational career, and he's currently the active leader in receiving yards with 13,064 overall to go alongside 988 catches and 85 touchdowns.

Hopkins signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Ravens last offseason. His play has been somewhat limited thus far, though.

In a 41-40 Week 1 loss at the Buffalo Bills, Hopkins played 18 of a possible 51 offensive snaps (35 percent). However, he still managed to make a great impact, snagging a one-handed 19-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson.

In Week 2, which featured a 41-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, Hopkins played just 10-of-56 snaps (18 percent). However, he authored another great moment, making a diving catch for a 23-yard touchdown.

On four targets this season, Hopkins has four catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns. So Hopkins is making the absolute most of his opportunities, even if he isn't getting too many at the moment.

Still, Monken's comments (and Hopkins' play) suggest that he could be getting more work. We'll see if that comes to fruition in Week 3, when the Ravens host the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football in a potential shootout between two great offenses.
