NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Alabama DL LT Overton
LT Overton is the most versatile defensive lineman in the 2026 NFL draft class. He's an impressive run defender with the potential to be an impactful pass-rusher at the next level.
Overton is listed at 6'5" and 283 pounds and originally went to Texas A&M as a 5-star recruit in the 2022 class, per 247Sports, before transferring to Alabama in 2024.
He received immediate playing time as a true freshman for the Aggies, totaling 31 tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack before seeing a dip in production with just 17 tackles and no TFLs or sacks in 2023. He became a starter with the Crimson Tide in 2024 and logged 42 tackles, three TFLs and two sacks.

Where He Wins
1 of 4
- Has experience playing several alignments along the defensive line, lining up anywhere from a 2i- to a 7-technique.
- Strong and physical at the point of attack to stand up offensive tackles and get extension on blocks. Good at shedding blocks, too.
- Plays with a wide base and has a thick lower half to be solid at absorbing contact and staying his gap against combo blocks from offensive tackles and tight ends.
- Solid bull rush to collapse the pocket when he keeps his pads down.
- Has decent change-of-direction movements and agility to be an effective looper on stunts and develop a finesse move if his hand usage improves/becomes more consistent.
- Decent bend for his size.
Areas of Improvement
2 of 4
- Has a bit of a tweener body type; a little bulky for a defensive end and too light for a 3-technique.
- Not explosive off the line of scrimmage and has a habit of doing too much dancing as a pass-rusher.
- Accuracy with his hands as a pass-rusher is below average, Overton often misses and exposes his chest. Also, isn't good at working the hands after contact.
- Can get caught playing with subpar pad level against the run.
