Yankees Insider Blasts Twins' 'Absurd' Decision to Schedule Night Game on Wednesday
The New York Yankees were not fans of the Minnesota Twins' decision to schedule a night game on Wednesday.
The Yankees, who play the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. ET, finished up their 10-5 win over the Twins late on Wednesday night before heading directly to the airport to get on a flight to Baltimore. Upon arrival, around 4 or 5 a.m., they drove 80 minutes to their team hotel, according to The Athletic's Brendan Kuty.
According to Kuty, a "prominent member of the Yankees" called Minnesota's decision to schedule a night game "absurd," considering the team had to be in Baltimore the following day.

Kuty noted that MLB allowed the Yankees to fly to Baltimore early on Thursday instead of on Wednesday night, but players instead opted for a late-night flight.
The late arrival in Baltimore added to what has been a grueling travel schedule for the Yankees, as they also didn't get to Minnesota until after midnight on Monday after a night game against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, per Kuty.
After four games against the Orioles this weekend, the Yankees will finally get a day to relax on Monday before back-to-back home series to close out the season.
