Tyreek Hill Denies 'Preferential Treatment' from Dolphins amid Rumors of Tardiness
Star receiver Tyreek Hill is the best offensive player on the Miami Dolphins, but he doesn't feel the franchise favors him over anyone else.
While speaking to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques, Hill said he "doesn't believe he received preferential treatment and insisted on his high-caliber work ethic." However, he also "did not deny missing meetings or arriving late to meetings and practice."
Louis-Jacques noted that multiple sources cited "tardiness" as a key issue for the Dolphins during their disappointing 2024 season, which ended with an 8-9 record to fall short of the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Hill, who was named a captain last season, reportedly was one of the "repeat offenders who received numerous fines throughout the season." However, one former Dolphins player said this behavior only became an issue once the team stopped winning games.

"Everyone was fine with cutting meetings, cutting practice when they're winning, but once you're losing, it's like now you can't get mad at that," the player told Louis-Jacques. "You were just enjoying it when you were winning."
For what it's worth, Hill told Louis-Jacques that he "has not missed any meetings this season, dating back to the offseason, and has been on time to 'everything.'" Unfortunately, this hasn't paid off, as Miami is off to a 0-2 start to the 2025 campaign, most recently losing 33-27 to the New England Patriots this past Sunday.
The Dolphins are hoping to get back on track when they face the Buffalo Bills (2-0) on Thursday Night Football. They will likely need a huge game from Hill, who leads the team with 149 receiving yards but hasn't yet reached the end zone this season.
