Carlos Alcaraz, Roger Federer Photographed Playing Golf Together Before 2025 Laver Cup

Ahead of the 2025 Laver Cup, Team Europe's Carlos Alcaraz enjoyed some time with one of tennis' all-time greats.

Alcaraz was seen playing a round of golf alongside the legendary Roger Federer before the Laver Cup kicks off on Friday.

Federer posted a kind message to Alcaraz on Instagram, writing in the caption, "Welcome to Laver Cup 2025, Carlitos… nice work on the golf course. Hope you packed your tennis rackets."

Alcaraz, who is coming off a win at the US Open for his sixth career Grand Slam title, spoke about Federer's influence earlier this month.

"He told me you have to be focused on the next five years, from here to when I'm 27," Alcaraz said. "And then, when I get 27, then think about five years more. Who told me was Roger. So I think that's the best person that he, I mean, he could tell me that, and I will try to follow his words."

In addition to spending time with Alcaraz on the golf course, Federer was seen playing pickup tennis at Stanford earlier this week. The 20-time Grand Slam champion retired in 2022 and is clearly enjoying his time off.

Team Europe and Team World have split the last four Laver Cups, with the Europeans taking home the title in 2024. In addition to Alcaraz, other notables on Team Europe include Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud, and the team is captained by the legendary Yannick Noah. Team World is headlined by Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, with Andre Agassi serving as captain.
