NFL Insider Says Chiefs 'Frustrated' by 'Repetitive' Injuries, Issues with WR Group
The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a surprising 0-2 start to the 2025 season, and their offensive struggles can be attributed to the absences of key players.
The Chiefs lost wide receiver Xavier Worthy to a shoulder injury in their season opener, which further depleted a receiving corps that was already without wideout Rashee Rice while he serves a six-game suspension. ESPN's Dan Graziano reported that the lack of continuity at the wide receiver position has created concerns in Kansas City.
"I get the sense that the Chiefs are frustrated by the repetitive nature of this -- their WR room being decimated every year by injuries and other issues," Graziano stated. "But they expect it to improve once Worthy is back and Rice comes off his suspension."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Kansas City has produced just 38 combined points through two games this season. The team couldn't get much going in their 20-17 loss to the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles in a Super Bowl LIX rematch this past Sunday. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was limited to 187 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception, though he also led the team with 66 rushing yards and added another score on the ground.
Despite the rough start to the season, there is optimism that the Chiefs will be able to get back on track once their offense is at full strength. Kansas City has a favorable matchup against the 0-2 New York Giants in Week 3, so any continued struggles will lead to questions about the team's chances to contend for another trip to the Super Bowl.
"I think that'll help the run game, too. And they really should be able to get right Sunday against the Giants," Graziano added. "It's too early to give up on Andy Reid and Mahomes, but the concerns are legit."
