Cody Rhodes is reportedly drawing rave reviews following his time on set for the upcoming Street Fighter movie.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), those who were on set with Rhodes during his portrayal of the popular character Guile "spoke glowingly of him."

Also, one source suggested to Fightful that there was some belief that Rhodes may have played a role in New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Hirooki Goto landing the role of E. Honda in the movie by putting a good word in for him.

Street Fighter, which is scheduled for an Oct. 16, 2026, release, is chock full of pro wrestling talent, as Roman Reigns is also part of the cast, playing the role of Akuma.

Given his blonde head of hair and patriotism, it is easy to see why Rhodes was viewed as the ideal fit to play Guile.

While Rhodes had a bit of acting experience in the past, he has expanded his résumé quite a bit on that front over the past year or two.

For quite some time, Rhodes' recurring role in the popular television series Arrow was the most notable thing he did as an actor, but that may be changing.

In addition to being part of Street Fighter, Rhodes was in the new Naked Gun movie that released last month, playing the role of a bartender.

As WWE champion, Rhodes has been presented as the face of WWE for well over a year at this point, and given the popularity of the product, several outside opportunities are coming along with that.

If Rhodes was indeed a joy to work with during Street Fighter and turns in a performance that gets people talking, there figure to be many more acting roles available to him in the future.

Morgan vs. Perez Feud Reportedly Not in the Works

Despite a built-in storyline being in place, WWE is reportedly not planning a much-talked-about rivalry for Liv Morgan once she returns from injury.

According to BodySlam.net (h/t Mukherjee), there "haven't been any discussions" about Morgan feuding with Roxanne Perez when she returns to the fold.

Morgan has been out of action since June due to a shoulder injury, and it has long been assumed by fans that she would instantly target Perez when cleared to return.

Before Morgan got injured, Finn Balor enlisted the services of Perez to help The Judgment Day, and Morgan was clearly not behind the idea of her potentially joining the group.

After Morgan got injured, Perez volunteered to step in and replace her as one half of the WWE women's tag team champions with Raquel Rodriguez.

While Raquel was against it at first due to her loyalty to Liv, Roxanne did enough to prove herself, and they became a legitimate tag team.

At times during Morgan's absence, Perez has overstepped her bounds by cozying up to Dominik Mysterio, who is Liv's on-screen love interest.

Because of that and Perez teaming with Rodriguez, it seemed like an obvious choice to have Morgan come back as a babyface out for revenge against Roxanne for attempting to take everything that belonged to her.

WWE has seemingly toned it down on Perez flirting with Dominik as of late, instead focusing on Dom's status as the intercontinental and AAA mega champion.

That could be a sign that WWE is indeed distancing itself from the idea of Morgan vs. Perez, although that won't be known for sure until Liv returns from injury.

WWE Reportedly Discussing Lucha Brothers Reunion

The departure of Andrade reportedly could set the wheels in motion for a popular tag team to join forces in WWE for the first time.

According to BodySlam.net (h/t Mukherjee), Fenix's creative plans are being "reshuffled" since he and Andrade had been scheduled to continue their alliance moving forward. One idea that has reportedly been discussed is a Lucha Brothers reunion between Fenix and Penta.

Fenix and Andrade quickly enjoyed success as a tag team on SmackDown, winning several matches in a row and competing in two WWE Tag Team Championship bouts, but Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported last week that Andrade had departed WWE and was no longer contracted to the company.

That forced WWE to pivot in relation to Fenix, having him challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Championship unsuccessfully on last week's SmackDown.

Before signing with WWE, Penta and Fenix enjoyed enormous success as a team, winning tag team titles together in AEW, TNA, ROH, AAA, MLW and PWG.

It was assumed by many that the real-life brothers would be a team in WWE as well, but Penta joined WWE before Fenix could officially sign, and the decision was made to give Penta a singles run.

Penta has gotten over with the WWE fanbase in a big way, and while Fenix has wowed them with his athletic ability, he hasn't enjoyed the same level of success as Penta.

Reuniting the Lucha Bros. could provide Fenix with a huge boost, while also presenting Penta in a new light and breathing life in the tag team division in the process.
