Raiders' Geno Smith Says He's 'Got to Be a Lot Better' After 3 INTs vs. Chargers
The Las Vegas Raiders' offense struggled to get anything going in Monday night's 20-9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, and veteran quarterback Geno Smith is shouldering the blame.
Smith finished with just 180 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions on 24-of-43 passing and was sacked three times in the loss, and he admitted after the game that he needs to be much more productive for the Raiders to be successful.
"Those are things that I got to learn from and be better at," Smith told reporters, per ESPN's Ryan McFadden. "Anything that doesn't look right out there, put that on my shoulders. I feel like I got to be a lot better for our guys. I know I have to, and I will be."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In addition to Smith's lackluster performance, Las Vegas mustered only 68 rushing yards in Monday's game, with rookie Ashton Jeanty totaling 43 yards on just 11 carries. A win would've put the Raiders in first place in the AFC West, but they instead fell to 1-1 while the Chargers remained undefeated at 2-0.
The Raiders will have a short week to regroup before their Week 3 road matchup against the Washington Commanders. Smith reiterated that the team's effectiveness on offense is his responsibility, and he's ready to answer the challenge.
"I'm never going to make any excuses about anything," Smith said. "I've got to be better. We've got to be better, and we've got a short week to improve on that."
