Jey Uso, Asuka and Most Likely Heel, Face Turns at WWE Wrestlepalooza 2025

Kevin BergeSep 17, 2025

As WWE heads to a new home for its premium live events on ESPN, Wrestlepalooza feels like a show that WWE needs to deliver on in a big way.

This is a night the company wants everyone to talk about for months to come, especially competing with AEW All Out on the same night.

For this reason, this is a perfect opportunity to deliver huge moments, possibly dramatic heel or face turns that change WWE's direction for the rest of the year.

Many teases have been laid out in recent weeks that might hint to these moments including former world champions like Jey Uso and Asuka.

The following are the most likely heel and face turns coming out of Wrestlepalooza.

Heel: Asuka and Kairi Sane (and Possibly Iyo Sky)

1 of 4

Asuka has set the stage in every conceivable way for a heel run at the top of the card, and she is bringing Kairi Sane with her.

Week after week, The Empress of Tomorrow has made enemies of the top fan favorites on Raw with one exception: Iyo Sky.

While The Genius of the Sky remains a popular star and a friend to Asuka and Sane, they cannot fully become top heels on Raw, but all signs point to a massive shift at Wrestlepalooza.

Asuka made her intentions clear by confronting Stephanie Vaquer ahead of her match with The Genius of the Sky for the vacant Women's World Championship.

The Empress of Tomorrow will protect her friend on the road to another world title reign, and if she fails, Asuka will do it herself.

This is a biggest angle than anything else WWE has built going into this title match, so it would be a shock if The Empress of Tomorrow did not get involved in some way.

The Pirate Princess has remained friendly with most of the locker room, but she is loyal to Asuka and will likely follow her down the darker path.

Sky's direction is less certain. She could stick by her friends, but the more interesting angle would be to pit them against one another.

Either Asuka helps Sky win the gold then turns on her because she wants the title, or The Empress of Tomorrow costs The Genius of the Sky the match to go after La Primera herself.

Both options set the stage for what could be Raw's strongest angle in the women's division for the rest of the year as Asuka and Sky collide.

Face: "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio

2 of 4

At WrestleMania 41, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship and received the biggest pop of his career.

Since that time, fans have rallied around Dirty Dom in spite of his continued heel tactics and allies.

When he won the AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide, the entire crowd cheer as he bullied his consistent babyface father into crowning him.

All signs point to Mysterio becoming one of WWE's biggest babyfaces before long, but when will the company go for it all?

At this time, Dirty Dom is not scheduled for Wrestlepalooza, but that could still change based on how SmackDown goes.

The Judgment Day could also appear in some form or fashion on the show regardless of the card as they have many enemies on the current roster.

This could be the right stage for WWE to go for it all and give fans what they want, allowing Finn Bálor to turn against him and push the double champion toward the fans.

If it does not happen now, there may not be a good place for the turn until at least Royal Rumble 2026, which is far too late for a star ready to go big.

Heel: Jey Uso or LA Knight

3 of 4

Few men in WWE right now are more popular than Jey Uso and LA Knight, yet they are feuding with each other at the moment.

This has set up both men to make moves that are not popular with the crowd, laying out the other popular star.

Jey especially has sold a changing attitude, leaning into the more intense persona that got Roman Reigns to the top.

However, with his brother by his side and a crowd eagerly "Yeeting" with him, it would be odd for him to fully embrace a heel turn unless it is only a temporary move to give him an edge.

While The Million Dollar Megastar is also quite popular, he feels more likely to make a full turn at the expense of Jey, fed up with the other babyfaces costing him shots at World champion Seth Rollins.

He could even choose to join The Vision out of frustration, helping Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed beat The Usos.

Heel: Randy Orton

4 of 4

It has become almost a monthly tradition to include Randy Orton as a potential heel turn candidate as he has always thrived more in that role.

At present, he is losing some direction at the top of the card. He was overwhelmed by a game Drew McIntyre on SmackDown and has fallen out of the world title picture.

If he still wants to get back to Cody Rhodes and the WWE Championship, a turn may be in order.

McIntyre and Logan Paul have formed an unusual alliance of personalities, but they could use more help if they want to challenge the top babyfaces.

The Viper turning on Rhodes to help McIntyre would be a wild turn of events that could make the WWE Championship picture exciting again.

Even if it does not happen at Wrestlepalooza though, Orton turning on Rhodes feels like the only path forward for him, and this could be another show that sets the stage for the moment.
