Tom Brady, Saquon, Gronk, CMC Among Stars to Play in Fanatics Flag Football Classic

Andrew PetersSep 15, 2025

A handful of current and former NFL stars will participate in this year's Fanatics Flag Football Classic.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, NFL legend Tom Brady, along with Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Maxx Crosby, Rob Gronkowski, Sauce Gardner, Myles Garrett and more will compete in the event.

The competitive flag football tournament will take place during Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia on March 21, 2026, according to Schefter.

According to Schefter, the three coaches for the event will be Las Vegas Raiders' Pete Carroll, Denver Broncos' Sean Payton and San Francisco 49ers' Kyle Shanahan.

Schefter noted that the event will be Brady's first time getting back on the gridiron since he retired following the 2022 campaign. The seven-time Super Bowl winner said he "couldn't be more excited" to get back on the field.

"Get the competitive juices flowing alongside some of the game's brightest stars and iconic legends, and bring a truly unique global sports event to fans everywhere during Riyadh Season," Brady said, per Fox Sports' Eric Williams. "I have always admired the power of flag football and how it connects fans of all ages, and it's awesome to be able to showcase the sport on such a global stage while joining together so many incredibly skilled athletes."

It's unclear what other NFL players will participate in the event or how the teams will be decided, but it will be exciting to see Brady team up with some of the game's current stars.

It's worth noting that the flag football tournament comes ahead of the first-ever Olympic flag football event at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. It could serve as a good warm-up for those planning to participate, and may even inspire players to go for gold in a few years.

If Brady has enough fun, perhaps he'll look to join the United States' Olympic flag football roster.
