Carson Wentz, Justin Jefferson, Mason Fantasy Advice amid McCarthy, Jones Injuries
The Minnesota Vikings have been struck by the injury bug, and it will have an impact on several players' fantasy production.
Quarterback J.J. McCarthy and Aaron Jones will both likely miss Minnesota's Week 3 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals due to injuries. McCarthy is set to miss two to four weeks because of an ankle injury, while Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury.
That means Carson Wentz will be the starting quarterback, while Jordan Mason will get the majority of touches in the backfield, likely leading to more fantasy points for both players.

The injuries could also impact wide receiver Justin Jefferson since he'll have to rely on Wentz finding him to put up big numbers.
Fantasy managers who previously had McCarthy as their starting quarterback now have a decision to make. If you are in a league with a lot of players, there won't be too many quarterbacks to choose from, so just picking up Wentz might be your best bet.
Wentz was a reliable starter for the Philadelphia Eagles, but it has been several years since he held a QB1 job. He's spent the last three seasons serving as a backup for the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.
For those playing in a smaller league with plenty of quarterbacks still available, it might be a safer move to pick up a different quarterback on the waiver wire, perhaps one who has shown some potential through the first two weeks and could be on his way to a big Week 3.
Even before Jones got injured, Mason had seen the majority of touches in the backfield through the first two weeks. He has recorded 98 rushing yards on 24 carries, while Jones has just 46 yards on 13 carries.
Now, the Vikings will rely on Mason in the backfield even more than they were before, so he is a worthwhile waiver wire pickup if he's available in your league.
Fantasy managers of Jefferson might be getting tempted to trade him away after a slow start to the season, but fans shouldn't give up on him just yet. He may not end up having the same season he did with Sam Darnold a year ago, but Jefferson can make plays no matter who his quarterback is.
If anything, having Wentz under center could lead to more production from Jefferson. Wentz is a veteran who won't be as afraid to throw an interception or two if it means getting the ball in Jefferson's hands, so he could be in for a breakthrough in Week 3.
