Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings for Top Players and Matchups for All Positions

Kristopher KnoxSep 15, 2025

Week 2 of the NFL season threw a few curveballs at fantasy managers. More than a few players and teams that produced in Week 1 failed to do so over the weekend, and injuries further impacted the fantasy landscape.

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields exited with a concussion on Sunday. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is expected to miss "at least" three months following toe surgery, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Plenty of fantasy questions remain as we head into Week 3, which will kick off with the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills on Thursday night. You'll find some top matchups and early point-per-reception (PPR) rankings here.

  5. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts

  8. Michael Penix Jr. Atlanta Falcons
  9. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
  10. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
  11. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
  12. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Matchup to Love: Dak Prescott at Chicago Bears

The Dallas Cowboys probably don't have a defense good enough to make a serious playoff run in 2025. However, their offense is clicking under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, which means good things for Dak Prescott in fantasy.

Prescott has thrown for 549 yards and two touchdowns through two weeks while adding 20 yards on the ground. He had a 361-yard, two-touchdown performance against a suspect New York Giants defense on Sunday.

This week, Prescott will face another vulnerable defense, that of the Chicago Bears. The Bears have coughed up 9.2 net yards per pass attempt and seven passing touchdowns through the first two weeks of 2025.

  13. James Conner, Arizona Cardinals
  14. Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
  15. Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

Matchup to Love: James Cook vs. Miami Dolphins

If there's a team at risk of implosion this early in the season, it's the Miami Dolphins. Miami has played a disastrous brand of football through the first two weeks, its offense has committed far too many mistakes, and its defense has done nothing to inspire confidence.

This week, the Dolphins will travel to face the buzzsaw that is the Buffalo Bills.

Bills running back James Cook feasted against the rival Jets in Week 2, racking up 132 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He'll have a chance to go off again versus a Dolphins defense that has surrendered 278 rushing yards and three rushing scores through its first two games.

  11. Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears
  12. Marvin Harrison Jr., Atlanta Falcons
  13. Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
  14. Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders
  15. Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
  16. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  17. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
  18. A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
  19. Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
  20. Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars

Matchup to Love: DK Metcalf at New England Patriots

The Aaron Rodgers hype train slowed considerably in Week 2, as the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback threw a pair of interceptions en route to a 31-17 loss.

However, Rodgers did manage to connect with wideout DK Metcalf for their first touchdown hookup of the season. Metcalf's numbers to this point (7 receptions, 103 yards) have been underwhelming. However, he'll have an opportunity to get going in Week 3.

The Steelers are set to visit a New England Patriots defense that has surrendered 630 passing yards and three passing touchdowns through two games. While Metcalf may never be a top-tier play in Arthur Smith's offense, he has solid WR2 value this week.

  9. Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
  10. Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
  11. T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
  12. Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

Matchup to Love: Kyle Pitts at Carolina Panthers

There are several reasons to love Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts in Week 3. The first is the fact that he's finally returning to Pro Bowl form alongside second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

Pitts has caught 11 passes for 96 yards through two games.

Secondly, Pitts will face a lackluster Carolina Panthers defense on Sunday. Carolina surrendered four receptions for 59 yards to Brenton Strange in Week 1 and six receptions for 78 yards to Trey McBride in Week 2. Pitts should have his best stat line of the season in Week 3.
