Most fantasy football managers likely wrote running back Cam Skattebo off after a rough NFL debut, but the New York Giants rookie might have redeemed himself against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Moving forward, the Giants could look to Skattebo more in goal line situations, which would lead to more fantasy production for him.

Skattebo did nothing to impress in the Giants' season opener as he recorded just two carries for negative yardage and had two catches for 12 yards. He was much more involved against Dallas on Sunday, picking up 45 yards on 11 carries plus two receptions for 14 yards.

Though Skattebo is listed as the third-string running back on the Giants' depth chart, he saw the most action on Sunday. Tracy, who is listed as New York's RB1, had just five carries for 15 yards, plus four receptions for 36 yards. Singletary, the second running back on the depth chart, had just one carry for four yards.

Skattebo was an extremely versatile running back in college, recording 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground along with 605 receiving yards and three touchdowns through the air.

It's hard to maintain that kind of success in the NFL, but if Skattebo can establish himself as a reliable threat on both the ground and the air, he'll be a solid addition to most fantasy teams.

Still, fantasy managers shouldn't overreact just yet. Though Skattebo had a solid game on Sunday, you probably shouldn't drop any key players in hopes that he can continue to post decent numbers. However, if your roster is already plagued by injury and you need someone to fill in the running back or flex slot, Skattebo could be a worthy addition.
