Aaron Rodgers, Steelers Disappoint NFL Fans as Seahawks Ruin DK Metcalf Revenge Game

Taylyn Hadley Sep 14, 2025

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 31-17, at home on Saturday in a disappointing result — especially in a revenge game for DK Metcalf.

Rodgers completed 18-of-33 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions as the Steelers dropped to 1-1 on the season. Metcalf hauled in a touchdown for Seattle, while Jalen Warren led Pittsburgh's offense with four catches for 86 yards and added 14 carries for 48 yards on the ground.

Fans voiced their frustration after the game, disappointed by the Steelers' performance and the home loss to Seattle.

The Steelers couldn't keep Seattle out of the end zone on the opening possession, falling behind 7-0 early, but responded with a field goal on their next drive. On Seattle's second possession, Jalen Ramsey intercepted Darnold, setting up another Pittsburgh field goal to close the first quarter trailing just 7-6.

Linebacker Nick Herbig came up big late in the second quarter, picking off Darnold for his second interception of the night. That set up a touchdown pass from Rodgers to Metcalf, giving the Steelers a 14-7 lead heading into halftime after holding Seattle scoreless in the second quarter.

Seattle responded out of the break, scoring on its first possession to tie the game at 14. Rodgers was then picked off by cornerback Derion Kendrick, but the Seahawks failed to capitalize. Both teams entered the final 15 minutes deadlocked at 14.

Seattle couldn't be stopped in the fourth quarter, piling on 17 points — including a touchdown off a muffed punt that the Seahawks recovered in the end zone. The Steelers managed to add a field goal, but another interception by Rodgers with under two minutes left sealed the deal.

Pittsburgh will look to bounce back next Sunday on the road against the New England Patriots.
