Cowboys Reportedly 'Prepared' for Jaxson Dart amid Giants, Russell Wilson Rumors

Russell Wilson didn't exactly shine in his New York Giants' debut on Sunday, and that has some fans in the Big Apple clamoring for rookie Jaxson Dart to supplant him (or at least get more snaps).

It's a possibility that the Dallas Cowboys have at least somewhat considered.

"I do know that the Cowboys have, at least, loosely prepared for a Jaxson Dart package," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported during Saturday's SportsCenter. "The Giants have shown that even throughout camp they'd have a drive where Wilson is leading the drive and then Dart will come in, maybe around the red zone or goal line. So, could be a factor where they could maybe get him in the game. Dallas is at least prepared for that, but they mostly prepared for Wilson."

The 36-year-old Wilson was just 17-of-37 for 168 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions during a Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders, taking two sacks.

He's clearly a bridge quarterback while the Giants groom Dart as the long-time starter, but it doesn't feel like that setup will last the entire 2025 season (especially after Dart impressed over the summer and preseason).

Perhaps Dart will see a few snaps on Sunday in specific packages. Call it an appetizer ahead of the main course of Dart to come.
