Dom Mysterio Beats Vikingo to Win AAA Mega Championship at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide

Dominik Mysterio is the new AAA mega champion.

Mysterio, who also currently holds the WWE intercontinental title, defeated El Hijo del Vikingo in the main event of the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event in Las Vegas on Friday night to win the championship.

The finish saw Mysterio, who was donning a lucha mask that was loaded with a foreign object, headbutt Vikingo with it and then deliver a frog splash for the pinfall.

Mysterio's win came after copious interference from his fellow Judgment Day members Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh. The Judgment Day got taken out by Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio, allowing Vikingo to regain the advantage.

When it seemed like Vikingo had the match won with a 630 splash, El Grande Americano arrived to pull the referee out of the ring before he could count to three.

After Mysterio got the win, Rey came down to the ring and was forced to put the title around his son's waist. The show ended with Dom, Bálor, McDonagh and El Grande Americano celebrating.

Friday's show marked the second Worlds Collide event of the year co-promoted by WWE and AAA. The first event, on June 7 in Los Angeles, ended with Vikingo defeating Chad Gable to retain the AAA mega title.
