Micah Parsons 'Ecstatic' to Join Packers After Cowboys Trade, Field Is 'Happy Place'

Micah Parsons is living his best life with the Green Bay Packers.

After the Packers improved to 2-0 with a win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday, fans trolled Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones by letting a superstar leave:

Parsons went on to praise his new team, saying he was "ecstatic" to get to work with Green Bay after the trade.

"That's the relief part. I'm finally able to be me," Parsons said. "Everyone knows this is my happy place, and they're like, 'Yo, you just look like you're having fun out there.' And I just truly am blessed to be having fun."

The Dallas Cowboys traded Parsons to the Packers in late August, and he signed a record-setting four-year, $188 million contract that includes $136 million in guarantees upon arrival in Green Bay.

Parsons was clearly unhappy with how the offseason went in Dallas, as he requested a trade in early August after the two sides struggled to come to an agreement on a new contract.

Ultimately, he got his wish and now has a fresh start with a new team.

Heading into Week 1, it was unclear whether Parsons would be able to make his debut as he was dealing with a back injury, but he managed to get to a place where he could be on the field to start the season.

He started his Packers' tenure strong, recording a sack in a 27-13 win over the Detroit Lions. He played well in Thursday's 27-18 victory over the Commanders as well, picking up a pair of tackles and half a sack.

Parsons has been one of the best pass rushers since he entered the league in 2021. Now he's on one of the top defenses in the NFL, and while still early in the year, the Packers look primed to be a contender.

For now, Parsons will continue to enjoy being back in his happy place.
