Steelers' DK Metcalf Says He's Interested in Acting Career After He Retires from NFL

Paul KasabianSep 11, 2025

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf sat down with Rich Kleiman of Boardroom for the latest episode of Network, which was released on Thursday.

During that talk, Kleiman talked about Metcalf's off-field interests, and he brought up acting. Kleiman then asked if acting would be something Metcalf would want to do following his career (25:57 mark).

"Yes sir, I'm definitely into acting, and I know the NFL did a good job. (NFL Senior Vice President of Football Communications and Marketing Tracy Perlman) does a great job at helping people find their passions off the field and helping them set that up during the offseason."

Earlier in the interview, Metcalf spoke about his love and experience acting.

"Yes sir, one thing I've really been into is acting. Took acting classes for a couple years, been trying to work my way into TV shows and movies on that front."

Metcalf has a few acting credits to his name. He played "Coach Hammer" in the kids superhero movie, Secret Headquarters, which starred Owen Wilson and Michael Peña. You can check out his part below.

Metcalf also made an appearance in the Peacock series, Bel-Air. He played as himself in the third season as a groomsman for one of the characters, Lamarcus Alton, who plays an NFL wideout on the show.

Obviously, Metcalf would like to expand on his opportunities down the road. For now, though, he's making the most of his chances with the Steelers, catching four passes for 83 yards to help lead Pittsburgh to a season-opening 34-32 win at the New York Jets last Sunday. He'll look to keep up the positive momentum Sunday, when the Steelers host Metcalf's old team, the Seattle Seahawks.
