Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings, Box Score Projections for Players with Top Matchups
We're already one game into Week 2, but fantasy managers still have plenty of tough choices ahead. We're still learning which teams are good, which players are truly set to break out and which fantasy-favorable roles are sustainable.
Will Marquise Brown really average 10 receptions per game? Probably not.
Here, you'll find updated point-per-reception (PPR) rankings for the top remaining Week 2 plays. You'll also find a deeper dive into the best matchups of the week, based on Week 1 results, past performances and any other team-specific factors.
Quarterback
1 of 4.jpg)
- Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
- Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
- Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
- Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
- Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
- Justin Fields, New York Jets
- Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
- Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
- Drake Maye, New England Patriots
- Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
- Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Top Matchup: Drake Maye at Miami Dolphins
The Baltimore Ravens surrendered the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in Week 1. However, they also faced Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen while he was having one of the best games of his career.
The Miami Dolphins allowed the second-most fantasy points in Week 1, and they faced ...Daniel Jones.
Now, we don't want to discount Jones' potential resurgence with the Indianapolis Colts. However, Miami being completely unprepared to face a dual-threat quarterback says volumes. This week, the Dolphins will host the New England Patriots and quarterback Drake Maye.
Maye was only QB18 in Week 1, but his scrambling ability gives him a ton of upside in this matchup. Expect him to jump into top-10 territory this week.
Stat Projection: 289 passing yards, 2 TDs, 45 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD
Running Back
2 of 4.jpg)
- Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
- Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
- Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions
- Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
- Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens
- James Conner, Arizona Cardinals
- Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
- Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Breece Hall, New York Jets
- Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
- Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
- De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins
- Travis Etienne Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
- James Cook, Buffalo Bills
- Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts
Top Matchup: Breece Hall vs. Buffalo Bills
No team surrendered more fantasy points to opposing RBs in Week 1 than Buffalo. While it's certainly worth noting that slowing Ravens running back Derrick Henry is always a challenge, struggles against the run aren't new for the Bills.
Last season, Buffalo ranked 19th in yards per carry allowed.
This week, Buffalo will visit the rival New York Jets. As long as New York doesn't fall behind to the point that it's willing to abandon the run, this should be a terrific matchup for Breece Hall.
While Hall was widely expected to share the load with second-year back Braelon Allen, that didn't really play out in Week 1. Allen logged six carries. Hall tallied 19 carries and two receptions.
Even with Justin Fields playing a role in the ground game, Hall should deliver for fantasy managers this week.
Stat Projection: 104 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 38 receiving yards, 1 TD
Wide Receiver
3 of 4.jpg)
- Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
- Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
- CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
- Malik Nabers, New York Giants
- Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams
- Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
- Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
- Nic Collins, Houston Texans
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks
- Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers
- Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
- A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
- Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
- Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
- Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers
- DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles
- Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
- Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams
Top Matchup: Justin Jefferson vs. Atlanta Falcons
While the Atlanta Falcons only allowed the fourth-most fantasy points in Week 1, that deserves some context. The Falcons were playing a familiar divisional opponent at home and in a fairly favorable situation.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were without star tackle Tristan Wirfs and receiver Chris Godwin.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, meanwhile, was only WR20 in Week 1. Of course, he was on the road against a familiar divisional opponent and playing with a quarterback making his first NFL start.
Now, the Falcons are set to visit the Vikings after a heartbreaking letdown. J.J. McCarthy's chemistry with Jefferson is stronger than it was a week ago, and Minnesota has enough confidence in its young quarterback to let it fly. Add all of these factors together, and we can expect Jefferson to jump right back into the elite tier of fantasy receivers this week.
Stat Projection: 7 receptions, 94 yards, 2 TDs
Tight End
4 of 4.jpg)
- Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals
- Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions
- Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
- Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
- Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
- T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
- Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
- David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
- Kyle Pitts Sr., Atlanta Falcons
- Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
- Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
Top Matchup: Trey McBride vs. Carolina Panthers
Fantasy managers certainly didn't need an extra reason to start Trey McBride this week. The Arizona Cardinals star racked up 1,176 receiving yards a year ago and caught six passes for 61 yards in his 2025 opener.
This week, Arizona will host the Carolina Panthers, who had one of the worst overall defensive performances of Week 1.
Carolina allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends last week. While the Seattle Seahawks, Ravens, New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals allowed more, they all faced upper-tier tight ends. Brenton Strange isn't there quite yet.
Expect McBride to have a terrific outing in Week 2, even hooking up with Kyler Murray for a rare touchdown—McBride has just six in 50 career games.
Stat Projection: 8 receptions, 92 yards, 1 TD
