Scottie Scheffler Details 2025 Ryder Cup Prep, Will Play in Procore Championship

Scottie Scheffler discussed his plan to get ready for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

"It would be unusual for me to have four or five weeks off before the Masters or the U.S. Open or something like that," Scheffler said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Paolo Uggetti. "So there's no reason that I should be doing that going into the Ryder Cup."

Scheffler is one of 10 members of the United States Ryder Cup team that will be appearing in the Procore Championship in order to stay sharp, per Uggetti.

"You can practice and do all you can at home, but there's something different about playing competition, getting ready for a tournament," Scheffler explained. "Everybody's excited to be here. ... I feel like going to this year's Ryder Cup, I'm going to be as prepared as possible and then go out and compete."

Team USA has won the Ryder Cup in two of the past four competitions, although Europe emerged victorious in 2023.

Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the World Golf Ranking, struggled to stand out in the prior event.

The four-time major champion halved two matches and lost two others at the 2023 Ryder Cup. Scheffler was just one of three members of the 12-man U.S. team to finish the competition without recording a win.

"When I look back at the '23 Cup, I think I halved two matches and lost two, so I think I left there without winning a single match, and that hurt," Scheffler said, via Uggetti. "I think I could have been a little bit sharper at that tournament. That was a learning experience for me."

The 2025 Ryder Cup will begin on Sept. 26 at Bethpage Black.
