Ravens' Lamar Jackson Calls out Fan for Throwing Item at Derrick Henry, 'It's Not WWE'

Scott PolacekSep 10, 2025

Sunday's thriller between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills might end up being one of the best games of the entire 2025 NFL season, but there were also some incidents with fans at Highmark Stadium that stood out.

One of those incidents was captured on video and showed a fan throwing what appeared to be a bottle at Derrick Henry as the Ravens running back crossed the goal line.

"That's crazy, stuff like that shouldn't be happening," quarterback Lamar Jackson told reporters Wednesday. "It's not WWE. We're playing football. … Keep it football and talk trash. … Keep your hands and your objects to yourself."

Another incident more directly involved Jackson and happened after his touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins.

As Baltimore players were celebrating Hopkins' impressive one-handed catch, a Bills fan shoved the wide receiver and Jackson as they walked past the crowd. The quarterback responded by shoving the fan in return.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported a Bills official said the fan, who was ejected from the game following the situation, was "indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL stadiums."

Jackson apologized to the fan again Wednesday after he previously told reporters, "I seen him slap D-Hop ... and he slapped me and he talking, so you know I just forgot where I was for a little bit.

"But you got to think in those situations. You have security out there. Let security handle it. But I just let my emotions get the best of me. Hopefully, it don't happen again. I learned from that."

In a normal game, the incidents with the fans may have been the major storyline.

Yet this was anything but a normal game.

The Bills came charging back from a 40-25 deficit in the fourth quarter thanks to two touchdowns, a Henry fumble that gave them a short field, a strong defensive performance forcing Baltimore to punt on a key three-and-out in the last two minutes, and Josh Allen's ability to drive down the field with limited time to set up Matt Prater's game-winning field goal.

Buffalo's 41-40 victory could loom large later in the season as a tiebreaker if the two teams are competing for the No. 1 seed and the first-round bye that comes with it in the AFC.
