Jadeveon Clowney Reportedly Visiting Cowboys After Micah Parsons Trade to Packers
The Dallas Cowboys may have their eyes on another edge rusher after trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.
Free agent Jadeveon Clowney is visiting the Cowboys in Dallas on Wednesday, NFL insider Josina Anderson reported.
Clowney earned three Pro Bowl nods with the Houston Texans between 2016 and 2018. He most recently spent the 2024 season with the Carolina Panthers, who cut him from their roster in May.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Panthers originally signed Clowney to a two-year, $20 million deal worth up to $24 million ahead of the 2024 season.
He recorded 5.5 sacks in 14 games last season before he was cut shortly after the Panthers selected Nic Scourton in the second round of the 2025 draft.
ESPN's David Newton reported in May that the Panthers had "shopped" Clowney to other teams before releasing him.
Clowney remained unsigned throughout the summer, although he told Anderson in July that he was "still planning to play" in 2025 and that he had "been keeping in touch with four or five teams."
Signing with a team in the late stages of the offseason has been a pattern for Clowney in the later years of his career. The 32-year-old running back has signed four of his last five contracts in April or later, per NFL.com's Nick Shook.
The Cowboys, who traded star edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Packers less than two weeks before the regular season after a summer of contentious contract negotiations, are coming off a 24-20 regular season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dallas defenders recorded a 41.2 percent pressure rate on dropbacks (20 total pressures) in the loss, but Pro Football Focus' Dalton Wasserman noted those numbers may give an inflated view of the unit's success without Parsons.
According to Wasserman, 10 of the Cowboys' 20 pressures were on unblocked or cleanup opportunities.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts also averaged a time to throw of 3.67 seconds, per Wasserman, a rate which would have ranked highest in the NFL last season and made the Cowboys' ability to record just a single sack on Hurts relatively disappointing.
The Cowboys are preparing for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants, a team also looking for its first win of the season after suffering a 21-6 defeat by the Washington Commanders. The Commanders recorded two sacks, six hits and 13 hurries on Giants quarterback Russell Wilson in the victory, per PFF's Mark Chichester.
Dallas could be hoping that adding more depth to the pass rush by targeting Clowney could help the Cowboys similarly stifle Wilson in Week 2.
