Unrivaled Announces Breeze BC, Hive BC as New Teams for 2026 Season in Video

After a successful first season earlier this year, the Unrivaled 3-on-3 women's basketball league is expanding with a pair of new squads.

Unrivaled announced on Wednesday that it is welcoming Breeze BC and Hive BC as new teams for the 2026 season, bringing the league to a total of eight teams.

The expansion of the upstart league comes just a couple days after Unrivaled announced a valuation of $340 million. Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell told ESPN's Kendra Andrews that the players who receive equity in the league will continue to benefit from the league's growth.

"They are largely majority shareholders," Bazzell said of the players. "They are going to reap the benefits of these growing valuations, not just, 'oh, congrats, good job,' and 'you'll get better resources.' Our whole brand ethos is coming into effect and improving itself in a short amount of time."

Unrivaled debuted with its inaugural season in January, featuring six teams playing a round-robin schedule. The league was founded in 2023 by Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier and New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart to provide WNBA players with another avenue to continue competing in the offseason rather than playing overseas.

In addition to the 3-on-3 format, Unrivaled also introduced a 1-on-1 single-elimination tournament in February to determine the world's best 1-on-1 player, and Collier took home the title.

Rose BC won Unrivaled's first championship in March. The team was coached by Dallas Wings assistant Nola Henry, and its roster consisted of Las Vegas Aces star guard Chelsea Gray, Phoenix Mercury wing Kahleah Copper, Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, Seattle Storm guard Brittney Sykes, Los Angeles Sparks forward Azurá Stevens and Indiana Fever wing Lexie Hull.

Following the addition of two new teams, it can be expected that the 2026 Unrivaled season will bring even more opportunities for WNBA players and more excitement for the fans.
