Tyreek Hill Trade Calls Reportedly Rejected by Dolphins, Chiefs Linked by NFL Insider

Mike ChiariSep 10, 2025

Despite an awful start to the 2025 NFL regular season, the Miami Dolphins have reportedly been resistant to trade overtures involving star wide receiver Tyreek Hill thus far.

According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Dolphins have received trade calls on Hill, but they have not shown interest in dealing him, even after a 33-8 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.

Fowler noted that a reunion between Hill and the Kansas City Chiefs would be a "low-hanging fruit" given Rashee Rice's suspension and Xavier Worthy's shoulder injury, but there is no indication that the two sides are in talks or making any progress toward a trade.

After reaching the 1,700-yard receiving mark in each of his first two seasons in Miami and being named a First Team All-Pro on both occasions, Hill's production took a significant step back in 2024.

Despite starting all 17 games, he finished with just 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns, marking his lowest totals since 2019 when he was limited to 12 games with the Chiefs.

Hill reportedly played through the entire 2024 campaign with a wrist injury that required offseason surgery, which could largely explain the dip in his play.

However, after the Dolphins went 8-9 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2021, an entirely new issue emerged between Hill and the organization.

After the Dolphins' final game of the 2024 season, a clearly frustrated Hill told reporters, "I'm out, bruh. It was great playing here but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career."

Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, later walked back the comments and insisted that Hill was committed to the organization.

One month after the season ended, Hill apologized for his comments, but the damage may have already been done, as he was not voted a team captain in 2025, marking the first time that happened since he joined the Dolphins.

The bad vibes attached to the team last season have carried over to the start of this season, as the Dolphins were not competitive in Sunday's blowout loss to the Colts.

Hill led the team in catches and receiving yardage, but he had just four receptions for 40 yards.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa struggled mightily, going 14-of-23 for 114 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

After missing the playoffs last season and playing horribly in Week 1 of this season, many key members of the Dolphins organization may be on the hot seat, including Tua, head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier.

If the losing continues and the Dolphins decide to tear the team down, a Hill trade before the Nov. 4 trade deadline could become a much more real possibility.

For now, the eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time First Team All-Pro is preparing for Sunday's home divisional clash with the New England Patriots in hopes of getting Miami back on track.
