Triple H Confirms Cody Rhodes Will Return for WWE Wrestlepalooza amid Rumors
Triple H confirmed during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show Tuesday that Cody Rhodes will return at Wrestlepalooza, which will take place in Indianapolis on Sept. 20.
PWInsider.com (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) previously reported earlier this month that a match between Rhodes and Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship was listed internally for Wrestlepalooza.
Rhodes hasn't been on television since Aug. 8, when McIntyre attacked him during an episode of SmackDown.
During his time off television, Rhodes has been in Australia, where the movie Street Fighter is being filmed. Rhodes will play Guile in the movie.
However, it looks like he'll be back to face McIntyre, who explained his side of the story the week after the attack.
So it'll be a heated match to say the least.
Wrestlepalooza, which will take place in Gainbridge Fieldhouse (home of the NBA's Indiana Pacers and WNBA's Indiana Fever), already features a stacked card. John Cena's retirement tour continues with a match against Brock Lesnar. Couples will hit the mat when Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch face CM Punk and AJ Lee, who is making her return to the ring for the first time since 2015. Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer will also face off for the vacant Women's World Championship.
