Jerry Jones Says Cowboys Never Made Eagles a Micah Parsons Trade Counteroffer
The 2025 NFL season is underway, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is still talking about Micah Parsons.
During a Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan (h/t Jon Machota of The Athletic), Jones said "there was no counter offer" in trade discussions with the Philadelphia Eagles.
"The closer we got to trading Micah, the more the phone started ringing."

Dallas ended up trading Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, who then gave him a four-year, $188 million contract with $136 million in guarantees.
The Cowboys received two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark in the trade, although they reportedly could have gotten even more if they seriously engaged in discussions with their rivals.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported the Eagles made the strongest offer for Parsons with two first-round picks, a third-round pick and a fifth-round pick, "amongst other things."
It isn't surprising the Cowboys didn't want to trade him to their primary rival in Philadelphia. That would have meant playing Parsons twice a year and dealing with him in the standings, and Jones and the front office surely would have faced plenty of ridicule whenever the Penn State product played well in the head-to-head matchups.
The Eagles are also coming off a Super Bowl title and have arguably the best team in the league once again this season. If they added Parsons to that mix, a second straight Lombardi Trophy would have been even more likely.
And that is surely one of the last things Jones and the Cowboys want to see.
