Caleb Williams Ripped by Fans as Bears Lose Ben Johnson's Debut vs. McCarthy, Vikings
Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears started strong on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
As the game went on, the Bears struggled to find consistency on offense and let the Vikings come back and win in Ben Johnson's debut as head coach.
The second-year quarterback received plenty of criticism for how the Bears offense stalled out after he scored the opening touchdown on a nine-yard run.
Williams did lead the Bears on a fourth-quarter scoring drive to cut the deficit to three points, but he could've done better on that drive. He missed a wide open D.J. Moore a few plays prior to his touchdown pass to Rome Odunze.
Williams produced some bright spots in the 27-24 loss. He had 211 passing yards and led the Bears in rushing with 58 yards.
However, Williams was unable to keep the lead and the Bears will go into Johnson's reunion with the Detroit Lions in Week 2 with an 0-1 record.
