AJ Lee Breaks Silence on WWE Return, 'This Run Is for You, My Wonderful Weirdos'

After making her triumphant return to WWE after a decade away, AJ Lee posted a message of gratitude to her fans.

Lee posted on social media for the first time since her comeback on Friday's episode of SmackDown Live and dedicated her return to her "wonderful weirdos."

Lee, who is married to fellow WWE Superstar CM Punk, returned to assist her husband in his feud with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and his wife, Women's Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. They appear to be setting up for a mixed tag team match at an upcoming premium live event, possibly Wrestlepalooza on Sept. 20.

Lee was a three-time Divas Champion and held the title for a record 406 days. After she retired from in-ring competition in April 2015, she resisted the universal clamoring for her return, until now.

Fans will certainly savor the moment of having Lee back in the WWE for however long she chooses to stick around.
