Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Worked on 'Terrible' Drops 8 Hours After 5 a.m. Return Flight
CeeDee Lamb didn't waste much time working to move past his self-described "terrible" drops from the Dallas Cowboys' season-opening 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
ESPN's Todd Archer reported Monday that the wide receiver was practicing on the Jugs machine Friday approximately eight hours after the team's 5 a.m. return flight from Philadelphia.
"That's the kind of stuff that gets me fired up, and that's why he was voted a captain and will do great things for us the rest of the year," head coach Brian Schottenheimer said.

Lamb is arguably Dallas' best player, especially after the Micah Parsons trade, but he dropped three passes in the loss to the rival Eagles, two of which came in the fourth quarter. What's more, he failed to haul in a potential diving catch on a key fourth down in the final two minutes of the game:
"Man, that's terrible," he told reporters after the game. "Honestly, I feel like I can't point no finger at anybody else."
He also said, "I need to catch the damn ball," and "I take full accountability and everything that's going to come with it. As for me as a player, I've prayed for moments like that and for the ball to come my way, and for me not to come up with it, that stings a little bit."
Yet his quarterback did not lose confidence in him as a go-to receiver.
"It wasn't just those plays," Dak Prescott said. "There's throws out there that I want back. But it's Game 1, and he's a guy that makes those plays. He's going to make those plays. I'm not going to get down on him. I'm not going to lose confidence by any means. And he will make those plays."
That type of confidence is not surprising given Lamb's track record.
His resume includes four Pro Bowl selections and four straight seasons with more than 1,100 receiving yards, including in 2023 when he led the NFL with 135 catches for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Lamb has done nothing but produce for the vast majority of his career, and he still had seven catches for 110 yards in the loss to Philadelphia even with the drops and late-game misses.
The talented wide receiver remains a leader for the team, and he will look to parlay his additional practice time into more production when the Cowboys take on the New York Giants in Week 2.
