Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings Overview for All Positions

Kristopher KnoxSep 9, 2025

Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season saw many fantasy staples—like Josh Allen, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey and Puka Nacua rack up those points. It also saw a few surprises, both good and bad.

Rookies Emeka Egbuka, Tyler Warren, Bill Croskey-Merritt and Harold Fannin Jr. were among the week's notable fantasy producers.

We can expect a mix of stars and sleepers to shine again in Week 2, which will kick off with Thursday's matchup between the Washington Commanders and Green Bay Packers. You'll find some early point-per-reception (PPR) rankings here.

Bills QB Josh Allen
  1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
  2. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
  3. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
  4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
  5. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
  6. Justin Fields, New York Jets
  7. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
  9. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
  10. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
  11. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
  12. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen played his brand of hero ball on Sunday night, finishing with 394 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 30 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also led an epic comeback against the Baltimore Ravens.

Against a New York Jets team that surrendered 34 points in Week 1, Allen should again shine.

Managers shouldn't discount Jets quarterback Justin Fields in that matchup, though. Against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has traditionally been quite good, Fields racked up 218 passing yards, a passing TD, 48 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, meanwhile, threw for 244 yards and four scores against the Jets in Week 1. He'll have a tough matchup against an improved Seattle Seahawks defense in Week 2, but he's a reasonable waiver-wire target, available in over 80 percent of ESPN and Yahoo leagues.

Running Back

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey
  1. Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
  2. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
  3. Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens
  4. Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
  5. Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
  6. Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
  7. Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions
  8. Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
  9. James Cook, Buffalo Bills
  10. James Conner, Arizona Cardinals
  11. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts
  12. Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
  13. Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  14. Breece Hall, New York Jets
  15. Chuba Hubbard, Arizona Cardinals

One of the top fantasy-related storylines of Week 1 was the return of Christian McCaffrey. After an injury-plagued 2024 campaign, McCaffrey reminded fans of his PPR prowess.

While McCaffrey only rushed for 69 yards and didn't find the end zone, he also had 73 yards on nine receptions. Fans can expect a similar performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner had a solid outing against the Saints in Week 1, finishing with four receptions, 44 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. However, Trey Benson got in on the action as well, with one reception and 75 scrimmage yards.

Benson is worth a waiver-wire look in larger leagues this week. He's rostered in 53 percent of ESPN leagues but just 39 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Chase Brown is poised for a Week 2 surge, though that's true for a lot of Cincinnati Bengals players.

Wide Receiver

3 of 5
Bengals Browns Football
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase
  1. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
  2. Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
  3. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
  4. Malik Nabers, New York Giants
  5. Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams
  6. Nico Collins, Houston Texans
  7. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
  8. Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars
  9. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks
  10. Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers
  11. Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
  12. Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
  13. DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers
  14. Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  15. Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  16. A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
  17. Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
  18. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
  19. Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers
  20. Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams

The Bengals managed to steal a win in Week 1, but they certainly didn't have the fast start they were seeking. Joe Burrow threw for just 113 yards, while Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for five catches and 59 yards.

For whatever reason, the Bengals always seem to struggle against the Cleveland Browns.

Along with Brown and Burrow, Chase and Higgins should both bounce back in Week 2. They'll be at home and up against a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that played well enough in Week 1 but struggled in 2024.

Fans can expect Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb to also rebound this week. He had seven catches for 110 yards in Week 1, but he also had some costly late drops that doomed Dallas. He should have fewer miscues against the New York Giants and reward both the Cowboys and fantasy managers.

Quentin Johnston certainly rewarded the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, finishing with five catches for 79 yards and two scores. He's available in over 90 percent of ESPN and Yahoo leagues, though fans can expect him to be the top waiver target of the week.

  8. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
  9. Evan Engram, Denver Broncos
  10. Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
  11. David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
  12. Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders

Managers will want to keep an eye on Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who exited Sunday's game with a knee injury. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, it's nothing serious, but it's worth monitoring.

It's also worth monitoring the Indianapolis Colts coming out of a stunning Week 1 blowout win. New starting quarterback Daniel Jones picked apart the Miami Dolphins, while rookie tight end Tyler Warren (7 catches, 76 yards) played a major role.

Even against a terrific Denver Broncos defense this week. Warren is a must-start.

Warren wasn't the only rookie tight end to impress in Week 1 either. Fannin surprised for the Browns, snagging seven catches for 63 yards and adding a three-yard run. His matchup against the Ravens isn't ideal, but Fannin is worth a look in deeper leagues. He's available in nearly all Yahoo and ESPN leagues.
