Updated 2026 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 1 Results
It's never too early to speculate about which teams will sit atop the 2026 NFL draft order.
Some teams came into the 2025 NFL season with low expectations, so if the New Orleans Saints are near the top of the draft order, no one will be surprised.
The Miami Dolphins were the biggest negative surprise in Week 1. The eight-point performance in Indianapolis might be a sign they are headed for a high draft pick instead of into the playoffs.

The New England Patriots and New Orleans are the top two teams in the very early draft order projection after Week 1.
New Orleans was expected to be in his position. The Saints have arguably the worst quarterback room in the NFL and not a ton of talent around Spencer Rattler outside of Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave.
The Saints only put up 13 points at home in Week 1 and they could be doomed to a low-scoring fate all season.
The good news is that plenty of highly-touted quarterbacks could feature in the 2026 NFL draft class, including Texas' Arch Manning and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier. The families of both players have connections to the Saints franchise.
Miami was one of three teams to produce a single-digit point total in Week 1.
The other two, the New York Giants and Houston Texans, at least have positives they can turn to. The Giants can flip from Russell Wilson to Jaxson Dart and build for the future, while Houston is projected to be a playoff team.
Miami, though, could see its season go south quite fast. The Dolphins haven't achieved much in the Mike McDaniel era and their entire season has the potential to go up in flames.
Miami appears to have an easy schedule on paper in the first five weeks, but you could've included the Indianapolis game in that and we saw how the Dolphins fared in Week 1.
The Dolphins aren't doomed yet, but they might be the surprise team to keep an eye in the discussion for a high draft pick in 2026.
