Lamar Jackson Shoves Fan Who Hit Ravens Players' Helmets on Video, Bills Eject Fan

Andrew PetersSep 7, 2025

Tensions ran high during the Baltimore Ravens' season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

As the Ravens celebrated a touchdown, a Bills fan hit wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and quarterback Lamar Jackson's helmets. Jackson then confronted the fan and shoved him into his seat.

Per Kyle Goon of the Baltimore Banner, the fan was ejected from the game.

After the game, Jackson told reporters that his emotions got the best of him in the moment and that he'd learn from the situation:

The confrontation between Jackson and the fan wasn't the only fan-related situation on Sunday. When Derrick Henry found the endzone on a big run in the fourth quarter, there appeared to be some trash thrown on the field at Highmark Stadium.

Jackson and the Ravens' offense frustrated Bills fans all night in their season opener. The particular play that sparked the interaction between Jackson and the fan was a one-handed touchdown grab from Hopkins.

The Bills and Ravens, though not divisional rivals, have formed a bit of a rivalry in recent years thanks to some outstanding matchups and a few playoff meetings. The most recent meeting, before Sunday, came with Josh Allen and Buffalo ended Baltimore's season with a 27-25 win in the divisional round.

The individual success of Jackson and Allen has added to the rivalry as well. Both quarterbacks have played at an MVP-level over the last few years and Allen edged out Jackson for the coveted award last year.

Those two will likely be in that conversation again this year, and it wouldn't be a surprise if their teams meet in the playoffs once again this year.
