Doric SamSep 7, 2025

In his 21st season in the NFL, future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed that he still has a lot left in the tank.

Rodgers led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 34-32 comeback win over his former team, the New York Jets, in a wild season opener on Sunday. He threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-30 passing and helped set up a game-winning 60-yard field goal by Chris Boswell with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter.

The 41-year-old showed flashes of his four-time NFL MVP form with an efficient performance. Despite sustaining four sacks, he showed resilience as he led his new team to victory.

Fans on social media praised Rodgers and the Steelers for their exciting win against the Jets on Sunday:

Sunday's game featured seven lead changes as the Jets put up a strong fight. Justin Fields, who was facing his former team as well after spending the 2024 season with the Steelers, had a solid debut for Gang Green with three total touchdowns.

Rodgers seems to be settling in nicely in Pittsburgh. He struggled to handle the pass rush from New York at times, but he still played a clean game with no interceptions.

The Steelers will look to keep the momentum going when they face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.
