Tua, Tyreek Hill, Dolphins Ripped by NFL Fans in Blowout Loss to Daniel Jones, Colts

Timothy RappSep 7, 2025

The Miami Dolphins ended the 2024 season in disappointing, and contentious, fashion. The 2025 season isn't getting off to a better start.

The Indianapolis Colts hammered the Dolphins on Sunday, 33-8, behind Daniel Jones' surprisingly strong showing (22-of-29 for 272 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions).

Miami's stat lines didn't look nearly as promising. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 114 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, taking three sacks (he also lost a fumble). De'Von Achane rushed just seven times for 55 yards (though he did add three catches for 20 yards and a score, salvaging his fantasy football afternoon). Tyreek Hill had four receptions for 40 yards, and once again was seen fuming on the sidelines.

The vibes are, in a word, atrocious. It was ugly performance, and folks on social media didn't tread lightly in the aftermath:

A year ago, Miami opened the season 2-6 and never quite recovered, though a huge chunk was down to Tagovailoa suffering another injury. The Dolphins also lost the final game of the season to the New York Jets with a potential playoff berth still up for grabs.

The hope was that a healthy season with Tagovailoa and some moves made around the margins could return the Dolphins to contender status. On Sunday, however, they looked more like a team that would be hitting the clubs in January than one that would be preparing for a playoff game.

There are 16 more games to go, of course. Miami fans are hoping this is more of a "it can't possibly get worse than this" situation and not the team's new reality.
