Tom Brady Trolls Eli Manning, Fans Praise NFL Legend During Giants vs. Commanders

Let Tom Brady's second season in the announcing booth begin.

The legendary former quarterback was on the call alongside partner Kevin Burkhardt for Sunday's season-opening tilt between the Washington Commanders and New York Giants, which aired on Fox.

Which, naturally, gave him a chance to have some fun at Eli Manning's expense even though the former Giants quarterback has bragging rights when it comes to head-to-head Super Bowl meetings:

The 2024 season was Brady's first as an announcer for Fox after he signed a 10-year, $375 million deal. He called regular-season contests, playoff games and eventually the Super Bowl.

Even though Brady now has some experience under his belt, all eyes were still on him at the start of the 2025 campaign.

And plenty of viewers had positive things to say about his efforts:

This reaction comes after Brady drew mixed reviews at the start of his tenure but was eventually praised for his improvement. That he quickly showed improvement should come as no surprise, as his dedication to his craft was a major reason he became arguably the best player in NFL history during his career.

Brady's resume includes seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVPs, three league MVPs, 15 Pro Bowl nods, four seasons leading the league in passing yards and five seasons leading the league in passing touchdowns.

He holds the NFL's all-time record for career passing yards and career passing touchdowns and remains the gold standard of quarterback play.

Given that list of accomplishments, it felt fitting Brady was around the Super Bowl as a broadcaster last season. Few players, if any, are more associated with the Lombardi Trophy, although he was in the booth for the latest matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

And he will be again in Week 2 as part of Fox's call for the Super Bowl rematch between the Chiefs and Eagles.
