Carlos Alcaraz Beats Jannik Sinner in 4 Sets to Win 2025 US Open Men's Final Bracket
In another classic installment of their exciting rivalry, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the men's US Open final on Sunday.
For Alcaraz, it's his second career US Open title following his 2022 victory, and it's his second Grand Slam singles title of the 2025 season, joining his win at the French Open, and his sixth major victory overall. The 22-year-old phenom avenged his loss to Sinner in the Wimbledon final and capped off the Grand Slam season with the last laugh over his World No. 1 rival.
Alcaraz set the tone early with a break point to start the first set. He dominated the third set, going up 5-0 before Sinner mustered his first point. He earned another break in the fourth set, his fifth of the day, before closing things out with a dominant service game that included an ace for the match point.
Sinner was seeking his second straight US Open title and his third Grand Slam title of the 2025 season after winning the Australian Open and defeating Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final.
This marks the fifth tournament final in 2025 that has featured Sinner and Alcaraz. The youngsters have ushered in a new era in tennis following the dominant runs of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz now holds a 10-5 lead in their head-to-head rivalry.
The sport of tennis is clearly in good hands with a pair of young stars leading the way, but it's Alcaraz who is pulling ahead in becoming the face of the game following Sunday's US Open final win.
