The top two seeds will meet in the US Open men's singles final for the second time in four years.
The 2025 meeting of the top two seeds has a much more distinct feel to it since Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have been the dominant forces in men's tennis all year.
Sinner and Alcaraz played in the last two Grand Slam finals. The players split those meetings. Sinner also won the Australian Open.

A third Grand Slam final between Sinner and Alcaraz felt inevitable from the start of the US Open.
Sinner lost two sets in his six matches, while Alcaraz is trying to become the first man to win the US Open without losing a set.
Alcaraz owns the head-to-head advantage with a 9-5 record and he's been the victor in six of the last seven meetings with Sinner.
However, Sinner's one win in that stretch was in the Wimbledon final and his form on hard courts is exceptional.
Sinner hasn't lost a Grand Slam hard-court match in two years. He's won his last two Grand Slam championship matches in straight sets.
Alcaraz is only in his second Grand Slam hard-court final. He's been to the title match three times at Wimbledon and twice at the French Open.
Alcaraz's recent dominance of the matchup and Sinner's hard-court success make it hard to distinguish a true edge in Sunday's final.
A marathon match almost feels certain, though, as two of their last three meetings at Grand Slams went five sets and the other match went four sets.
