Justin Herbert Hyped as Early MVP Candidate by NFL Fans as Chargers Beat Chiefs

Justin Herbert's 318-yard, three-touchdown performance caught the eyes of many NFL fans.

Herbert was in the spotlight not just because he and the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-21, but because he showed flashes of a potential NFL Most Valuable Player.

Herbert delivered a pair of touchdown passes to Quentin Johnston, who led the Chargers with 79 receiving yards.

Herbert's biggest play came with his legs, as he scrambled 19 yards to convert a first down and seal the victory.

Friday's win could only be the start of the Herbert MVP hype. He and the Chargers play two more AFC West games to begin the season. If he plays well in Week 2 versus the Las Vegas Raiders and in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, expect plenty more MVP buzz.
