John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar Set for WrestlePalooza After WWE SmackDown Attack on Video

Brock Lesnar returned to attack both John Cena and Sami Zayn on Friday's WWE SmackDown.

After Cena and Zayn started their match with the latter's United States title on the line, Lesnar emerged and laid out both wrestlers with an F-5.

The match between Cena and Zayn eventually ended in a no-contest following Lesnar's involvement.

Lesnar then confirmed that he'll face Cena in a match at WrestlePalooza in Indianapolis on Sept. 20.

Friday marked the first time that Lesnar made a WWE appearance since his unexpected emergence at SummerSlam on Aug. 3, hitting Cena with an F-5 after he lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.

It also represented Lesnar's first appearance on WWE programming since 2023.

As the end of Cena's retirement tour draws closer, the matchup with Lesnar will continue their storied rivalry. Since they first faced off in 2002, they've had memorable feuds at Extreme Rules 2012, SummerSlam 2014 and Royal Rumble 2015.

While the 17-time world champion's wrestling days will be in the rearview mirror soon, he's now guaranteed to face Lesnar in the ring at least one more time before retiring.
