US Open Tennis 2025 Women's Final Schedule, Bracket Prediction and Prize Money

Joe TanseySep 5, 2025

Aryna Sabalenka will face an American opponent for the second straight year in the US Open women's singles final.

Amanda Anisimova is the fourth American woman that Sabalenka has faced in a Grand Slam final.

Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula in straight sets to win in New York last year and she has the potential to produce a similar result on Saturday.

Anisimova is only a few months removed from not winning a single game against Iga Swiatek in the Wimbledon final.

Anisimova's improved against top players since then, but that result is lingering over her as she participates in her first final at her home major.

Sabalenka is difficult to pick against on hard courts.

The No. 1 seed has been to six hard-court Grand Slam finals and won three of them since 2023.

Two of the three wins were in straight sets. All of her losses in Grand Slam finals occurred in three sets, including the 2025 Australian and French Opens.

To beat Sabalenka, an opponent really has to wear her down and take away most of her strengths.

Anisimova knows how to do that from her six previous wins against Sabalenka. The eighth-seeded American owns a 6-3 head-to-head record in the series.

Anisimova beat Sabalenka in three sets at Wimbledon and she has two hard-court triumphs in the series.

Sabalenka, though, owns the edge in Grand Slam final experience. Saturday's final is just the second major championship match for Anisimova.

Anisimova proved she could thrive against multi-time major winners in the last two rounds against Naomi Osaka and Swiatek, but beating Sabalenka in a final is a whole other task.

The American certainly will play better than the Wimbledon final, but she may have a shaky start due to the nerves and pressure of playing a major final on home soil.

Sabalenka is the more seasoned Grand Slam final player and her record on hard courts proves she will be tough to beat on Saturday.

Prediction: Sabalenka defeats Anisimova in three sets
