Anisimova enters Saturday in great form and with plenty of confidence after taking down a pair of multi-major winners in Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka.
Preview
Sabalenka is the top seed and the best women's hard court player at the moment.
The top seed will feature in her sixth hard-court Grand Slam final on Saturday. She is 3-2 in those matches. Three of those five hard-court finals went three sets.
Sabalenka proved she was at least a bit human on the hard court when she dropped the first set to Jessica Pegula in Thursday's semifinals.
She then found her form inside Arthur Ashe Stadium and eliminated Pegula for the second straight year in New York.
Anisimova won't show any fear of the top seed, or the moment of a Grand Slam final, which makes her a dangerous underdog.
The eighth-seeded American took out six-time major winner Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals and four-time major champion Naomi Osaka in the semifinals.
Anisimova is also 6-3 in her career against Sabalenka. The latest of those victories occurred in the Wimbledon semifinals. Anisimova also holds a 2-1 against Sabalenka on hard courts.
Add in the home crowd being behind Anisimova on Saturday and you have a real recipe for an upset.
However, there has to be some concern about Anisimova's performance in the Wimbledon final. She did not win a game against Swiatek.
Sabalenka has loads of Grand Slam final experience and that could be the ultimate difference-maker in a tight match.
Prediction: Sabalenka wins in three sets
